Adaptive Assistive Technology

Adaptive Assistive Technology refers to technological aids that can help those students with special learning requirements succeed in the music classroom. The following presentation explores the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and its component strategies of Multiple Means of Representation (MMR) and Multiple Means of Expression (MME). Using these strategies the presentation employs Low and High tech solutions in a variety of scenarios which will allow students to be successful in the Music Classroom.

While some of these technological tools are specific to certain types of special learning needs it must be added that many of them can help all learners within the Music Classroom. Therefore these enhancements should be considered as a natural part of the classroom environment which will make inclusion within the music curriculum a seamless process for all learners.
